• Lighting is turned off during the day, (the building has solar tubes which bring in natural light from the outside)
• Layers of environmentally friendly insulation keep the cool air in and the hot air out, therefore reducing the amount of energy necessary to run it !
• Cooling systems are water cooled and energy star compliant
• A soil / plant roof for the data centre is underway - to reduce the cooling and heating requirements by over 50%
• All Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs are being replaced with LED lighting to reduce electricity usage and reduce Mercury contamination at landfill.

The data centre used for our Yoga websites is 100% solar powered (powered entirely by solar panels).

A system like this is an environmental equivalent, (in terms of reduction in emissions) of planting around 3.5 acres of trees per year !

Note: In contrast to this, many providers offer a Green hosting service through CARBON OFFSET only. So, (although this is better than nothing) - they often still consume energy from coal-burning or nuclear power stations !

Many of these companies do not invest directly in solar panels or wind turbines !

Also, our network administration systems are run on 100% renewable electricity, (from the natural, sustainable energy of wind, sun or running water).

Technical Information

Uptime

All data is backed up regularly and stored on top quality hardware, behind a firewall for reliability and security.

Monitoring

All servers are monitored by multiple systems software. This software will take evasive action in case it senses a problem. It will restart a failed service and can even reboot an entire machine. It will notify one of the senior techs in case of any failure. The techs are also notified if one of the monitoring servers fails.

Other stuff

AntiSpam and Antivirus applications are included. Additional products and services are also available, such as:-
